Jon Robins, an artist working in a variety of mediums has his studio on the South Coast of England overlooking the Isle of Wight where he lives with his wife Gillie and their cat Lettice.
He was born in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire in 1956 and educated at Marple Hall Grammar School in Cheshire. Whilst studying Art A level he realised that Art & Design was the direction that he wished to take as a creative career.
After leaving school Jon studied Graphic Art & Design at Bournemouth & Poole College of Art.
Upon leaving Art College and working as an artist, in 1977 he opened Jon Robins Studio, a gallery and art shop in Poole Old Town, where he sold his paintings.
Jon ran his studio for 12 years gaining a wide knowledge and experience of art materials, styles & techniques.
Selling the Studio in 1989 in order to pursue his varied creative interests, he has subsequently worked as a freelance artist, art restorer, art dealer & consultant and enjoys all of these roles.
Inspired by his move along the coast from Poole to Barton-on-Sea in 2008, his artwork now expresses a fresh and contemporary approach using a range of mediums and materials in a bold and imaginative manner.
